Four very talented, glamorous, intelligent and attractive Los Angeles women, who through injury, find themselves in wheelchairs. They deal with issues relating to their career, happiness, individuality, sport, men, flirting, sex,
shoes and fashion. They are a professional model, dancer, designer and athlete. The show’s creator is a former model and actress Angela Rockwood, who was left a quadriplegic after a car accident in 2001. Her roommate Tiphany Adams – the only survivor in a high school car accident, hip hop dancer Auti Angel who dated rapper LL Cool J in the early 90’s shortly before a car accident that changed her life forever, and former competitive swimmer Mia Schaikewitz, who was instantly paralyzed due to a blood vessel rupture in her spinal cord.
It’s great to see these women living life to the fullest albeit with more challenges than most. They have had to overcome, accept and assume their fate for better or worse. It is wonderful that these woman have been able to make this series to show us there are no limits to creativity, learning, studying and making a career in television and film.

I think it's a interesting story!
ReplyDeleteThanks Timm. We really like this story too.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great that TV producers are supporting this and talking about issues that disabled persons face; guess what, they are very similar to what we all face, yet we don't treat those with disability as our equals. We, at EmployMe, would really like to see this changed.
Do you know of any other great stories about who have overcome huge barriers and disability to create what Push Girls have? We'd love to hear more about stories like this; please don't hesitate to contact us. Maybe tell your story on our facebook account; there are so many inspiring persons in our community, we'd love to hear your story of a story about someone you know who is remarkable.
Thanks a mill from us at EmployMe.
Well done EmployMe! I am sure there are many more positive outcomes you have yet to hear. Best of luck
ReplyDeleteEmployMe- I was delighted when reading this blog. It is so rare that four beautiful disabled girls are so positive and inspiring. I think this story is a great inspiration not only for disabled girls but also for physically able girls. Additionally there is so much junk reality TV out there at the moment I'm glad an empowering, inspiring reality show like this has finally surfaced! I look forward to reading your future pieces!
